Terms & Conditions
1. Warranty
Volunteer Glass & Design, LLC (“VG&D” or “Company”) provides a limited lifetime warranty on frameless enclosure hardware and a one-year warranty on all other enclosures, mirrors, and workmanship. This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser, is non-transferable, and is valid only for products measured and/or installed by VG&D. Products supplied based on third-party measurements or installed by others are not covered.
VG&D agrees to repair or replace defective materials in accordance with applicable ASTM standards and National Glass Association guidelines. This warranty does not cover damage occurring after installation, including but not limited to scratches, chips, breakage, hard water stains, corrosion, misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, use of harsh or acidic cleaning agents, or structural movement of surrounding materials. Brass and gold finishes are excluded. Mildew-resistant silicone is used in wet applications but is a consumable material and is not warrantied.
Any defects must be reported within twenty-four (24) hours of installation. Shower enclosures are not watertight systems, and minor water leakage is inherent to their design. VG&D will address issues within its control; however, leakage resulting from improper slope, out-of-level surfaces, tile conditions, or structural deficiencies is not covered.
If glass has been treated with a protective or “spot-free” coating, such coating must be properly registered and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. While the coating reduces staining and buildup, it does not eliminate maintenance requirements. Failure to properly maintain or register the coating may void any applicable warranty.
2. Proposals, Pricing & Orders
All proposals are valid for thirty (30) days from the date issued. Pricing is based on field measurements and project conditions at the time of estimation. Any renderings, diagrams, or images are for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect final product details, including but not limited to dimensions, hardware placement, finishes, or profiles.
The Company reserves the right to adjust pricing if project scope, dimensions, or conditions change following final measurement or if additional work or materials are required. Any items not expressly listed in the proposal are excluded unless added through a written change order.
A fifty percent (50%) non-refundable deposit is required to initiate fabrication or material ordering. No materials will be ordered and no work will begin until the deposit has been received.
Orders may not be canceled or modified once materials have been ordered or fabrication has begun. Any requested changes may result in additional charges and schedule adjustments, including potential refabrication costs.
3. Payment Terms
All sales are final and non-refundable. The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of installation unless otherwise agreed to in writing. By providing a deposit and approving the proposal, the customer authorizes VG&D to charge the remaining balance to the same payment method on file.
Checks must be made payable to Volunteer Glass & Design, LLC or Tennessee Shower Doors, LLC. Returned checks may be subject to additional fees.
In the event of nonpayment, the account may be referred to collections or legal action, and the customer agrees to pay all costs of collection, including court costs, collection agency fees, and reasonable attorney’s fees.
4. Scheduling, Access & Lead Times
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., unless otherwise agreed. Scheduled appointments must be honored. Failure to provide at least one (1) business day notice for rescheduling may result in additional trip charges and project delays.
Lead times are estimates based on supplier and manufacturer information and are subject to change without notice. VG&D is not responsible for delays caused by third-party vendors or material availability.
One trip for field measurements and one trip for installation are included unless otherwise specified. Additional trips required due to site conditions not being ready or accessible may result in additional charges.
5. Scope of Work & Site Conditions
VG&D is responsible only for work expressly identified in the approved proposal. Any work not specifically listed is excluded.
The Company is not responsible for hidden or unforeseen conditions, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical wiring, structural deficiencies, or insufficient backing within walls. The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate structural support for all installations.
If demolition of existing materials is required, it must be noted in the proposal and may require execution of a separate waiver. Removal of existing materials may result in damage to surrounding surfaces or reveal underlying conditions, for which VG&D assumes no responsibility.
The Company is not responsible for damage to tile, stone, or other surface materials during standard drilling or installation. Breakage of such materials is considered a function of substrate condition and installation environment, not workmanship. If breakage occurs, work may be halted until conditions are corrected.
Installation is performed in accordance with industry standards and tolerances. Walls and surfaces are often not square, level, or plumb; therefore, VG&D cannot guarantee alignment with grout lines or other visual elements. Glass is fabricated and installed to prioritize structural integrity and proper function over visual alignment. Standard installation gaps and tolerances apply.
6. Materials, Fabrication & Handling
All materials are supplied in accordance with applicable industry tolerances for size, thickness, color, texture, and performance. Minor variations are normal and not considered defects.
VG&D is not responsible for discrepancies in customer-provided measurements. When installing customer-supplied materials, VG&D is not responsible for damage to those materials or surrounding property.
All glass and mirror products must be inspected at the time of delivery, pickup, or installation. VG&D is not responsible for damage once materials have been accepted or removed from Company control.
Freight shipments are curbside delivery unless otherwise specified. Customers are responsible for providing appropriate vehicles and handling for material pickup. VG&D is not responsible for damage to vehicles, property, or personal injury during loading or transport.
7. Mirror Work
All mirrors are custom fabricated based on project specifications and are subject to standard industry tolerances, typically ranging from ±1/8″ to ±1/2″. Minor visual imperfections, including seeds, slight distortions, or de-silvering, are inherent in glass manufacturing and are not considered defects.
Installation assumes that surfaces are dry, level, and structurally sound. VG&D is not responsible for issues arising from uneven, bowed, or otherwise unsuitable surfaces.
The one-year workmanship warranty covers installation-related failures under normal residential use but does not cover damage due to impact, misuse, moisture exposure, improper cleaning, or general wear over time.
8. Exclusions & Additional Work
Unless specifically included in the proposal, the following are excluded: demolition, structural modifications, electrical work, permits, engineering, testing, temporary enclosures, protection, cleaning, and repairs to existing conditions.
If site conditions require additional labor, materials, or modifications, such work will be subject to additional charges and may require a written change order.
9. Limitation of Liability
VG&D shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to damage arising from site conditions, structural deficiencies, work performed by others, or delays caused by third parties.
10. Media Release
The customer grants VG&D a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and non-exclusive license to photograph, record, and use images or video of the project for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes without compensation or further consent.
